Tyroc used as a moisture and thermal barrier under a finished laminate floor over an OSB wood substrate.
The home owner of this project wanted to replace the carpet in the living room and hall way with a laminate wood floor. There were two transitions to the tiled kitchen and foyer. This house was built on block foundation over a crawl space. The OSB wood substrate was in good condition once the old carpet and pad were pulled up. Tyroc Subflooring was used as a moisture, thermal and sound barrier. There was no need to sand the old OSB wood substrate at the joints or elsewhere as the Tyroc Subfloor provided an even level smooth surface and to install the Tarkett laminate wood flooring directly over Tyroc. After the installation was complete there was no click or clacking. And the finished floor even over the crawl space was noticeably warmer. This project was approximately 360 sq.ft. and took less than a day and half start to finish (including carpet tear out, remove and replace trim board, tyroc and laminate floor installed).
